We Can Complete Muir's Dream
The magnificent red barked
Giant Sequoias, among the largest and oldest living things, are found only
in John Muir's beloved "Range of Light," the Sierra Nevada of
California. One-hundred years ago, shortly after the creation of Sequoia
National Park, John Muir urged that protection be extended to all the
Giant Sequoia Groves. No one took action. Today, more than half of the
Giant Sequoia groves in existence are on Forest Service lands where
logging, bulldozers and road building are destroying the Sequoia ecosystem
and the forests of which the Sequoias are an integral part.

protect
